International Congress on Imaging and CVD
International Congress

Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
New Orleans, La.

Saturday, Nov. 8 - Wednesday, Nov. 12

The International Congress on Cardiovascular Imaging
will run concurrently with Scientific Sessions and will feature the most internationally renowned investigators in the field to discuss and present the latest advances in noninvasive cardiac imaging.  Focus topics include:

  • Imaging in the Management of Acute Chest Pain
  • Dangers of Cardiac Imaging
  • Imaging of the Congenital Heart Disease Patient
  • Molecular Imaging of Cardiovascular Disease
  • Imaging of Plaque Vulnerability and Atherosclerosis
  • New Technology in Echocardiography

Noninvasive cardiac imaging technology continues to develop and research in these areas continues to expand.  Thus, information regarding this new technology must be transmitted to the researcher and clinician.  The researcher needs to know of the latest methods available and of research being performed by others as a means of cross-fertilization.  The clinician needs to know how new imaging technology should be applied in daily practice.  This appropriateness of utilization, or evidence-based clinical practice, is determined by hypothesis-driven research.  Areas where growth, technology development and research has been greatest are molecular imaging, coronary CT angiography, cardiac MRI delayed-enhancement techniques and Doppler assessment of diastolic dysfunction.

International Congress Mission Statement
“In an effort to foster international collaborations in cardiovascular research, clinical care and education, the American Heart Association has played a leadership role by establishing International Congresses to run concurrently with Scientific Sessions, in areas of importance to the Global Cardiovascular Community.”
