The association’s ECC Program plays a vital role in building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke by improving the Chain of Survival in every community. Every five years, ECC publishes its Guidelines for CPR and ECC. Since 1972, these guidelines have set the global standard for treatment of cardiovascular emergencies. From the guidelines, ECC develops the highest quality training programs in CPR and ECC for healthcare professionals, lay rescuers, and the general public both domestically and internationally.
