Late-Breaking Basic Science Abstract Submissions
Opened: Aug. 21, 2008
Closed: Sept. 3, 2008 at 5 p.m. CDT
There is a $25 fee for each submission. Online payment is required.
Submit abstracts describing highly meritorious, high impact basic science. Any AHA/ASA Professional Member is eligible to submit a late-breaking science abstract related to either a basic science or an ATVB science category. Late-breaking basic science abstracts will be presented during Scientific Sessions 2008, Nov. 8-12, in New Orleans, La., and will be published online in Circulation Research following Scientific Sessions. Due to the late submission deadline, abstracts will not be included in the printed abstract supplement distributed on site.
All AHA/ASA Professional Members are eligible to submit abstracts and must be an author on each. Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of their impact and novelty. Based on the later submission date and the broader eligibility this year, we anticipate a highly competitive process with only 5 percent to 10 percent of submissions accepted for this featured session, as oral and/or poster presentations. Emphasis will be given to genuine innovation and fundamental, distinctive, novel research. Submission of "incremental" work, even if well performed, is strongly discouraged. Abstracts submitted in May/June, but rejected, or revisions of such an abstract will not be considered in this late-breaking abstract call.
All abstracts must represent original work not previously published or presented at a national conference or meeting.
Notification of acceptance or rejection will be e-mailed by mid-October. If planning to attend Scientific Sessions 2008, please do not wait to register due to the limited availability of accommodations at this late date. Register Today!
